In December 2018, the Wessex Heritage Trust were delighted to hear the news funding had been received for an exciting new project, Memories Brought Home.
Memories Brought Home is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund in partnership with three heritage sites and three social care organisations in Hampshire. The project will trial methods of engaging people who are isolated at home in the heritage of their local communities, reducing their social isolation and increasing their sense of well-being. Memories Brought Home will engage socially isolated individuals in practical sessions, train volunteers, and run workshops on local history themes to isolated individuals. The main outcome of this project is to actively encourage those that are socially isolated to engage with society once more through either paid work or volunteering.
Memories Brought Home is a 15-month research project, commencing on 1st March 2019 and ending on 1st June 2020.
